A total of 566 roads, including two National Highways, are still blocked, and about 525 transformers have been disrupted as heavy rains continue to cause problems across Himachal Pradesh.
According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, about 203 roads are shut in Mandi, 156 including NH-03 in Kullu, 50 in Shimla, 46 in Kangra, 26 in Chamba, 24 each in Bilaspur and Sirmour, 16 in Solan, 13 including NH-503A in Una, six in Hamirpur, and two in Kinnaur district. This has affected road connectivity in many areas across the state.
Out of 525 disrupted transformers, 327 are in Mandi, 78 in Sirmour, 34 in Hamirpur, 25 in Shimla, 23 in Kullu, 21 in Chamba, 16 in Kinnaur, and one in Kangra district. Many areas are facing electricity supply disruptions due to this.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is expected to continue across Himachal Pradesh. The State Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Solan, Bilaspur, and Sirmour districts on Thursday, warning of heavy rain along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning in these areas.
