An explosion was heard in parts of Sirsa district after a missile launched by Pakistan was reportedly intercepted by the Indian Defense system, causing its fragments to crash-land in Firozabad and Khaja Khera villages in the Rania block of Sirsa district early Friday morning.
Villagers were quick to gather at the impact sites, prompting a swift response from local authorities and the Indian Air Force, who arrived to secure the area and remove the debris. Former sarpanch of Firozabad, Paramjit Singh, confirmed that the missile landed in the fields of local resident Kundan Lal, with other parts landing in Arya Nagar and Khaja Khera villages.
Officials present at the scene declined to comment, citing ongoing investigations. The two impacted sites are roughly 16 km apart. Authorities had issued alerts in both Sirsa and Hisar districts, which are significant from a defense perspective—Sirsa hosts an Air Force base, while Hisar is home to an Army cantonment.
