Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Tuesday that the Central Government is committed to fulfilling all initiatives in the Union Territory despite challenges posed by internal and external threats.

While speaking on the sidelines of the tourism enclave in Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Sinha said, despite repeated attempts to incite disturbance and fuel secessionist activities from Pakistan, Kashmir continues to thrive and achieve success.

He pointed out that in the past five years; UT emerged from its turbulent past, particularly after 2019, resulting in a significant shift recognised by all.
“Around 24 million tourists visited Kashmir by 2024, a number significantly greater than before August 5, 2019,” he said.

The repeated use of 2019 is symbolically used to define a turning point in the geopolitical landscape of Jammu and Kashmir after the Central Government revoked Article 370 and its clause 35A from the Indian Constitution.

He also noted that J&K was making strides in digital transformation and becoming a leader in adopting technology-driven development, a mark of which was reflected in the Srinagar Smart City project.

Additionally, LG said that Jammu and Kashmir hosted G20 Tourism Working Group meetings that elevated Jammu and Kashmir to a distinguished stage.
He praised the Jammu and Kashmir population for showing resilience and strength against the malicious designs that he said were carried out by Pakistan to derail the region.

“Despite Pakistan’s efforts to undermine regional stability, the bond between Jammu & Kashmir and India endures robustly.

Despite the loss of innocent lives in the past, the populace remains resolute in their determination to progress,” Sinha said.
