Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao asserted on Monday that the results of the first and second phase of panchayat elections have delivered a clear message: the Congress government is rapidly losing public confidence across rural Telangana.

He argued that the ruling party’s poor performance in elections held without party symbols reflects a deep-rooted dissatisfaction among villagers with the Congress’s two-year rule. "If this is the fate of the Congress in non-party elections, its defeat in MPTC and ZPTC polls conducted with party symbols will be even more humiliating," he stated, calling the results a slap in the face for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

He further accused the Congress of destroying the state through anarchy and a long list of unfulfilled promises.

Reacting to the outcome on X, Rama Rao pointed out that the erosion of Congress support was evident, with party-backed candidates losing even in constituencies represented by Ministers and MLAs, which he termed a clear sign of shifting political winds.

He claimed that administrative failures and the failure to implement 420 promises, including the six guarantees, have turned into a significant liability for the ruling party. Recalling that the BRS had swept panchayat polls during its tenure, the BRS leader said the Congress’s inability to secure even half of the panchayats indicates mounting public anger in the villages.

He congratulated the BRS cadres for their strong performance and thanked the people of Telangana for supporting the party’s ongoing fight against the Congress government’s alleged atrocities, corruption, and failures with their vote.

He concluded by vowing that the BRS would safeguard all its cadre and promised a bright political future for those striving for the people.
