Jana Sena Party leader and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, kickstarted the party’s membership drive at their central office in Mangalagiri on Sunday.
Setting the tone, the actor-turned-politician became the first to sign up, backing his commitment with a donation of ₹2 crore for the registration process. Kalyan also stressed that the organisation is seeking members who can actually understand the ideology of the party and who are committed to taking the aspirations of the party forward. Reflecting on the growth of the party, Kalyan stated that the Jana Sena Party was started with 150 members.
"When we started the first phase of active membership in 2021, we had 90,000 members. By the time the elections arrived, the membership went up to six lakh. After the elections, the membership went up to 12.98 lakh members."
He highlighted the diverse demographic of the party's supporters, ranging from small business owners and daily wage labourers to educated professionals.
Kalyan also announced new classifications for members based on their level of commitment:
Udyami: Those who fully immerse themselves in understanding and working according to the party's ideals and aspirations.
Sadhak: Members who bolster the party’s efforts, inspire new generations, and are actively drawn to its ideology.
Pradatha: People who can offer support, both financially and technically or intellectually for achieving party's political endeavours.
The launch event was organised in honour of the representatives who secured the highest number of registrations during the previous drive. Key figures in attendance included Nadendla Manohar, Chairman of the Political Affairs Committee; Pidugu Hariprasad, political secretary to the party president; and general secretary Ram Talluri.
