Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Centre will continue to accelerate development efforts in Telangana, asserting that India is moving ahead on the “Reforms Express” while rapidly expanding modern infrastructure.

Addressing a public event after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of projects worth around ₹9,400 crore, Modi said, “I assure every family member of Telangana that to fulfil your dreams, the Central Government will continue to work at an even faster pace.”

Highlighting infrastructure growth, he said nearly ₹1.75 lakh crore has been invested in national highways in recent years, adding that the highway network in Telangana has doubled over the past decade.

Comparing present allocations with the past, the Prime Minister noted that while the railway budget for the region during undivided Andhra Pradesh was less than ₹1,000 crore, Telangana alone now receives nearly ₹5,500 crore, with projects worth about ₹50,000 crore currently under way.

Emphasising energy security amid global uncertainties, Modi said the government is making unprecedented investments in the sector. “What is the importance of energy security… every person in the world today is feeling it,” he said, adding that India has emerged among the leading nations in solar power.

He also flagged the inauguration of a new Indian Oil terminal in Malkapur as a step towards meeting the state’s growing energy needs.

The Prime Minister said the infrastructure push would boost investor confidence and generate employment. “The facilities being developed here will provide global investors with everything they need to invest and grow with confidence,” he said, adding that the projects would create large-scale job opportunities for the youth.

Among key initiatives, Modi laid the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, at a cost of over ₹3,175 crore. The project is expected to reduce travel time significantly and improve connectivity between Telangana and Karnataka.

He also launched the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district under the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor, being developed at a cost of over ₹2,350 crore. Spread across 3,245 acres, the project is expected to attract investments of nearly ₹10,000 crore and generate employment across sectors such as automobiles, food processing and engineering.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, developed at an estimated cost of around ₹1,700 crore. It is India’s first fully functional PM MITRA Park and aims to integrate the textile value chain under the “5F” vision—farm to fibre to factory to fashion to foreign.

Modi later dedicated Sindhu Hospital, a cancer-focused multi-speciality facility in Hyderabad.

Reiterating the government’s reform agenda, he said the projects would strengthen connectivity, boost industrial growth and contribute to overall economic development in Telangana.
