The floods, which struck Tripura from August 19 to 24, claimed at least 32 lives, left two others injured, and caused one person to go missing.

"The ex gratia will be provided from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF)," CM Saha said.

Expressing his gratitude, the chief minister wrote on X, "My heartfelt thanks to Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi Ji for announcing PMNRF ex-gratia relief of ₹2 lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the floods & ₹50,000 for the seriously injured. Your compassion brings huge support in these difficult times."

Additionally, Saha highlighted the efforts of an interministerial central team that assessed the flood damage across Tripura.

The team has assured him that they will submit their report to the competent authority promptly, which is expected to facilitate additional support for the affected areas.

“The interministerial central team met me, and I received an assurance from them that they would submit their report swiftly, which will aid in securing further assistance for the flood victims," Saha noted in another post.

The team, which arrived in Tripura on August 28, has since visited some of the most severely affected districts, including South Tripura, Gomati, Sepahijala, and Khowai.

Saha expressed his gratitude for the central government's quick response and support, emphasising its importance for the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.
