Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate major projects, lay the foundation for other projects worth Rs 3161 crore, distribute job letters to youth, interact with people across UT, and formally launch the BJP’s election campaign on five Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister will address a mega rally in MA Stadium Jammu in front of over one lakh people. Paharis, Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and Valmikis, recently added to the reserved category list, are excited about the Prime Minister's rally.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will accompany the Prime Minister, among others.
Among the projects, the major attraction is the inauguration of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link (USRL). It is supposed to run 48.5 km ahead of Banihal from Baramulla after being virtually launched by the Prime Minister if the final permission is granted on the last trial, which is scheduled for February 16.
Officials, on the other hand, said that "everything is in order and that the train will begin running from Baramulla to Sangaldan rather than the current Baramulla to Banihal route, covering an additional distance of 48.5 kilometres and benefiting the residents of Khari, Sangaldan, Google, Arnas, Mahore, and other areas."
The world's tallest rail bridge, stretching 1.3 kilometres and situated 359 metres above the Chenab River, stands 35 metres taller than the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. This bridge serves as a vital component of the 111-kilometre Katra-Banihal stretch.
"In the second phase, the train is planned to arrive in Reasi in May-June, followed by Katra a few months later, when Kashmir will be connected to the rest of the country by rail," they said.
Additionally, among 209 projects, Modi will lay the groundwork for 124 and inaugurate 85 projects worth 3161 crores. These projects include the construction and upgradation of 62 road projects and 42 bridges.
Construction of 2816 flats for Kashmiri migrants at nine places in Anantnag, Kulgam, Kupwara, Shopian, and Pulwama.
Under the guidance of UT Chief Ravinder Raina, senior BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have been actively mobilising the public for the upcoming rally.
The BJP secured victory in two Lok Sabha seats from the Jammu region in both the 2014 and 2019 elections.
Dr Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), emerged victorious in the Udhampur-Kathua constituency, while Jugal Kishore Sharma claimed the Jammu-Poonch seat in the previous Lok Sabha polls.
"Security forces are on alert and are maintaining vigil around the venue while barricades are also erected, and the entrants at the venue are being allowed to move only after complete frisking," said a high-ranking police official.
