Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Varanasi on Tuesday evening, marking his first visit to his Lok Sabha constituency after securing his seat.

During this visit, he will distribute the 17th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, providing over ₹20,000 crore in benefits to more than 9.26 crore farmers.

In addition, PM Modi will award certificates to over 30,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) trained as Krishi Sakhis, who will serve as para extension workers.

The event will be attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and several state ministers.

The Prime Minister's itinerary includes a 4.5-hour visit. He is expected to land at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur around 4 PM.

At approximately 5 PM, Modi will participate in the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan, where he will release the Samman Nidhi instalment benefiting 2,76,665 farmers in Kashi. He will also engage with 21 farmers to review their produce.

Preparations are in full swing for PM Modi’s visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Around 7 PM, he will witness the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi’s Dashashwamedh Ghat, followed by a visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple at 8 PM.

The temple’s CEO, Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, confirmed that the Prime Minister will spend about 25 minutes inside the temple.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare announced on Monday that over 2.5 crore farmers will participate in the event, including attendees at 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), 5 lakh Common Service Centres nationwide, and more than 1 lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies.

Special events are being organised at 50 selected KVKs, where a significant number of farmers will gather.

These centres will also host visits from several Union Ministers who will interact with the farmers. The ministry stated that farmers would be informed about good farming practices, new agricultural technologies, and climate-resilient farming methods.

They will also learn how to check their PM-KISAN beneficiary status and payment status, and how to use the Kisan-eMitra Chatbot. Additionally, Union Ministers will distribute certificates to trained Krishi Sakhis in the area.
