As the monsoon season comes to a close, officials reported that the air quality in the national capital deteriorated to "poor.".
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) indicated that the city's AQI reached 204 at 9 pm, categorising it as "poor".
The AQI scale considers 0-50 as "good", 51-100 as "satisfactory", 101-200 as "moderate", 201-300 as "poor", 301-400 as "very poor", and 401-500 as "severe".
The Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi has forecasted that the air quality is expected to be "moderate" on Wednesday, possibly accompanied by light rain.
It was mentioned that the prevailing surface wind is anticipated to originate from the east/southeast directions at a speed of 8 to 12 kmph.
The day's maximum temperature was recorded at 37.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.4 degrees Celsius, 2.5 notches above normal, according to the weather department.
The maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday are likely to settle around 36 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius.
