Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor has voiced strong support for the ongoing protest at Gandhi Maidan against the alleged BPSC paper leak in Bihar. Protesters are demanding the cancellation of the Bihar Civil Services (BPSC) exam, conducted on December 13, citing irregularities.
Prashant Kishor criticised the Bihar government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing it of ignoring public concerns. "Nitish Kumar is more focused on staying in power than solving the problems of the people. During the COVID-19 crisis, he failed to assist the people of Bihar," Kishor alleged.
Supporting the BPSC Gandhi Maidan protest
Joining the aspirants at Gandhi Maidan, Kishor announced an indefinite hunger strike to press for the cancellation of the BPSC exam. Addressing accusations that his actions were politically motivated, he said, "If supporting students is called politics, then I am doing politics."
He further condemned the government for its handling of the situation, stating, "The Bihar government is acting out of arrogance. CM Nitish Kumar didn’t even meet the students, despite their willingness to withdraw the protest if he assured them the exams couldn’t be held."

Police action against protests
The protest has garnered widespread attention, with various groups showing solidarity. Earlier today, supporters of Purnea MP Pappu Yadav organised a 'rail roko' at Sachiwalay Halt Railway Station in support of the students. However, the police dispersed them.
The controversy surrounding the BPSC paper leak and the Bihar Civil Services exam cancellation has intensified the debate on governance and accountability in Nitish Kumar’s administration.
Prashant Kishor reiterated his commitment to supporting the students, vowing to continue the BPSC protest until their demands are met.
