President Droupadi Murmu is on a six-day visit to Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Her schedule is a packed mix of religious visits, university events, and grassroots community meetings across Puri, Khordha, Balasore, Jajpur, and her home turf of Mayurbhanj.
The official itinerary begins in earnest on February 3 in Jajpur, where she’ll spend about an hour and a half offering prayers at the Maa Biraja Temple. From there, she heads north to Balasore to address graduating students at Fakir Mohan University’s 12th convocation. By Tuesday night, she’ll be in Puri, setting the stage for a spiritual Wednesday morning. She is expected to receive a traditional ceremonial welcome at the Jagannath Temple’s Singhadwara from the Gajapati Maharaja and temple servitors before heading to Swetaganga to perform Pinda Daan rituals.
Midweek, the focus shifts to Mayurbhanj. After praying at the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur, the President will spend time in her native region, meeting with locals and launching several new development projects. She’s also carved out time for a more quiet leg of the trip, planning an overnight stay at the Similipal Tiger Reserve. While there, she will meet with tribal women and local youth on February 6, keeping up her long-standing focus on community-level engagement.
After the Odisha leg of her journey, she will head to Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, on February 7, where she is scheduled to inaugurate the ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’ festival.
