President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a three-day visit to Dehradun from June 19 to 21. According to an official statement from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), preparations and tight security arrangements are being put in place by the government and administration for the visit.
During her stay, President Murmu will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art public park being developed on 132 acres along Rajpur Road. The park is expected to be completed within a year and will be dedicated to the public thereafter.
Additionally, Rashtrapati Niketan—formerly known as Rashtrapati Ashiyana—spread over 24 acres, will be thrown open to the public starting June 24. The heritage property houses a collection of artefacts and features attractions such as Lily Talab, Rokari Talab, and a Rose Garden.
The President will also dedicate Rashtrapati Tapovan, a tranquil 19-acre retreat designed for meditation and contemplation. The site includes winding paths, wooden bridges, and serene spaces amid nature.
Meanwhile, President Murmu's scheduled visit to Madhya Pradesh from June 18 to 19 has been cancelled. She was earlier slated to attend a state-level event on World Sickle Cell Day in Taloon Gram Panchayat, Barwani district. Indore Collector Ashish Singh confirmed the cancellation via a post on his official ‘X’ handle.
President Murmu was the chief guest at the programme, which was also set to be attended by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, and other state leaders.
