President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a three-day visit to Sikkim beginning May 26, during which she will attend official engagements including the seventh convocation ceremony of Sikkim University, officials said on Saturday.
According to official sources, the President is scheduled to arrive at the Libing Army helipad on the afternoon of May 26. She will later proceed to Lok Bhavan and is also expected to visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology at Deorali and the Orchidarium at Ridge Park in Gangtok.
On May 27, Murmu will travel to Nathula along the India-China border in the morning. Later in the day, she will attend the convocation ceremony of Sikkim University, where degrees will be awarded to students of the 2023, 2024 and 2025 batches.

On the final day of her visit on May 28, the President is scheduled to attend a Sikkim Police parade at Paljor Stadium before departing from the state later in the day.
The visit comes weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the closing ceremony of Sikkim’s 50th year of statehood celebrations and announced development projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore during his two-day visit to the state.
The projects announced during the PM’s visit span infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, power, urban development, environment, tourism and agriculture, aimed at strengthening inclusive development in the Himalayan state.
