The schedule of President Droupadi Murmu has been changed due to ongoing class X and XII board exams in Jharkhand. The Platinum Jubilee celebration at BIT Mesra, which the President was set to attend on February 15, has been rescheduled.
Originally, the event was set to start at 10 am, but it will now begin at 11 am. This change was made to avoid any problems for students taking the Jharkhand Academic Council and CBSE board exams, which start at 9:30 am.
Traffic restrictions will be in place for the President's arrival, which could make it difficult for students to reach their exam centers. To prevent any inconvenience, the event time was pushed back by an hour.
President Murmu will arrive in Ranchi on February 14. Alternative traffic routes have been set up to ensure smooth movement during her visit. She may travel to BIT Mesra from Raj Bhavan via Ranchi Ring Road, with another route available through Booti More.
Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari has reviewed the preparations and instructed officials to follow all necessary protocols. She also emphasised ensuring uninterrupted power supply and asked the airport director to keep the VIP lounge at Birsa Munda Airport ready.
Passengers with flights between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm on February 14 are advised to reach the airport by 3:30 PM. Similarly, those flying on February 15 between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm should arrive by 11:30 am.
