An inquiry has been ordered into the poor blacktopping of the road from Shadra Sharief to Sohra Bridge in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir.
This follows concerns raised by a video shared on social media, showing the low quality of the road work.
Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma inspected the road on Saturday and reviewed the blacktopping quality. After seeing the problems, he ordered an immediate investigation to find out what went wrong and hold responsible those in charge.
Sharma stressed that the district administration prioritises transparency and accountability in development projects. He warned that any lapse in quality would not be accepted.
He also instructed the relevant department to make corrections where necessary and submit a detailed report soon. Additionally, he highlighted the need to follow proper standards in road construction to ensure lasting infrastructure for the public.
