Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday called for a "decisive fight against terrorism and its origin" following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
In a post on his social media handle, Abdullah lauded the people of Kashmir for "freely and spontaneously" standing against terrorism and condemning the killing of innocents, reflecting their clear support for peace.
He urged the authorities to build on this public sentiment but cautioned against any action that might harm innocent civilians. "Punish the guilty, show them no mercy, but don’t let innocent people become collateral damage," Omar Abdullah said.
The terror attack on April 22 at the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists.
