Two men from Punjab's Ludhiana were arrested with over 2 kg of charas in Bilaspur district, the Himachal Pradesh Police said on Wednesday. The accused were identified as Raman (35), a resident of Fatehgarh Mohalla, and Amit Kumar (37), a resident of Azad Nagar, both from Ludhiana.
According to police officials, the duo was intercepted at the Baloh toll plaza on the Kiratpur-Ner Chowk road during a routine vehicle check. The vehicle raised suspicion when the two men appeared visibly nervous and failed to provide satisfactory answers when asked to show their documents.

Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Sandeep Dhawal confirmed the seizure and arrests. He stated that both accused have been booked under Sections 20 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which pertain to the production, possession, and conspiracy related to narcotic substances.
The two men were produced before a local court, which remanded them to police custody for further investigation. Authorities are now probing the origin and intended destination of the contraband, as well as the possible involvement of a larger drug trafficking network.
