Eight judges from Punjab and Haryana High Court with their families are on a tour of the Kashmir Valley to boost and revive the tourism affected after the Pahalgam attack on April 22.
Their visit is seen as a signal for a strong vote of confidence in the region’s safety, serenity, and timeless charm.
Among the visiting dignitaries are Justice Vinod S. Bharadwaj, Justice Pankaj Jain, Justice Jasjit Singh Bedi, Justice Nidhi Gupta, Justice Harkesh Manuja, Justice Aman Choudhary, Justice N.S. Shekawat and Justice Vikram Aggarwal.
Their schedule features visit to some of Kashmir’s most iconic travel attractions, including the Mughal Gardens of Shalimar and Nishat, a serene sunset Shikara ride on Dal Lake and a walk through Pari Mahal and the polo view market located in the heart of Srinagar city.
Arriving shortly after the Pahalgam incident that had cast a shadow over the Valley tourism, the judges’ high-profile visit is being viewed as a significant step in restoring confidence among the national and international tourists.
Stakeholders across the Valley, hoteliers, travel agents, craftsmen, and local guides, are already reporting a rise in bookings and enquiries.
“Their presence is not just symbolic—it sends a powerful message to the rest of the country and beyond that Kashmir is welcoming, peaceful, and safe for all visitors,” said a tour operator in Srinagar.

Justice Vikram Aggarwal, who is part of the visiting delegation, expressed satisfaction with the security and other arrangements in the Valley.
He urged tourists from across the country to visit Kashmir and enjoy its unmatched scenic beauty and hospitality.
The visit is also being hailed as a much-needed morale booster for the local tourism economy, with many seeing it as a turning point in restoring confidence after recent tumultuous events
The Jammu and Kashmir government is leaving no stone unturned to revive tourism in the Valley. Apart from inviting high-profile dignitaries, the government has also started several campaigns to attract more tourists to head for the Kashmir valley.
