The Punjab Cabinet has decided to convene the Budget session of the state legislature from March 21 to March 28, with the presentation of the Budget proposals set for March 26.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Punjab Council of Ministers, which was chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Apart from finalising the schedule for the Budget session, the Cabinet approved the establishment of 40 new skill development schools aimed at enhancing vocational training opportunities across the state. Additionally, the Cabinet endorsed the departmental reports of eight government departments, signifying a review of their activities and progress.
The meeting, which was originally scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the residence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, experienced a delay.
Three ministers—Aman Arora, Laljit Singh Bhullar, and Dr. Baljit Kaur—arrived at the CM's residence at the designated time but left after waiting for approximately 30 minutes when they were informed that the meeting had been postponed by an hour.
They later returned along with other cabinet colleagues for the rescheduled session, which commenced at 1 p.m. and lasted a little over an hour.
