The Punjab Cabinet on Thursday paid homage to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a "barbaric and inhuman act" that has "bruised the psyche" of every citizen.
During the Cabinet meeting, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, members observed a two-minute silence in memory of the 26 people — mostly tourists victims — who were killed in the attack on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
In an official statement, the Cabinet said the “heinous” attack had “bruised the psyche of every citizen” and once again underscored the fact that terrorism knows no religion .
"This senseless violence was an outrage against humanity and deserves to be condemned in the strongest possible words by everyone, regardless of religion, region, nation or any other persuasion," according to the statement.
The Cabinet further emphasised that no religion justifies such senseless violence, calling it an “outrage against humanity” and urging unity in the face of terror.
