Punjab Farmers Union KMM and SKM (non-political) have announced that they will march towards Delhi on December 6 if the government does not respond to their demands. The march will begin from the Shambhu border.

Earlier, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, the Coordinator of SKM, had declared he would begin a fast-unto-death protest at Khanauri, located on the Punjab-Haryana border, starting November 26. Dallewal, who is a cancer patient, also mentioned that Sukhjit Singh Hardojhande would join him in the fast.

Sarvan Singh Pandher, Coordinator of KMM, explained that farmers have been protesting at Shambhu and Khanauri since February 13. They had a meeting with the government on February 18, but it ended without any resolution.

Pandher criticised the government for not addressing farmers' issues and claimed that despite their promises, they have shown no real concern for the farmers. He mentioned that nearly 30 farmers have died while protesting, and Shubhkaran Singh was killed by security forces at Khanauri.

Pandher stated that the farmers would march in groups, led by senior leaders like Dallewal, Satnam Singh Pannu, and Surjit Singh Phool. The march will proceed without trollies, and the farmers are demanding a space to protest in Delhi.

KMM leader Guramneet Singh Mangat added that, due to multi-layer barricading at the Shambhu border, they would march on foot, as both the Haryana government and the Centre had previously said they could enter Delhi this way.

Earlier this year, on February 13, KMM and SKM (non-political) had called for a Dilli Chalo march to demand Minimum Support Price (MSP) as a legal guarantee law, along with other issues.

However, the farmers were not allowed to march and were met with tear gas shelling from the police at Shambhu and Khanauri. Despite this, they continued their protests, blocking the highways.
