A case has been filed against Punjab Pastor Bajinder Singh of Glory and Wisdom Church for sexual harassment, mental torture, and threats.
A woman accused the Jalandhar-based pastor, who calls himself "Prophet Bajinder," of sending her inappropriate messages and threatening her and her family to stop them from taking action.
Jalandhar ACP Babandeep Singh confirmed that the woman, along with her mother, brother, and husband, recorded her statement with the police. The case has been registered under sections related to sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken notice of the case and demanded strict action, including Bajinder Singh’s arrest. In a statement on social media, NCW, under Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, called for immediate action under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and requested a report on the case within three days.
Bajinder Singh, originally from a Hindu Jat family in Yamunanagar, Haryana, converted to Christianity about 15 years ago while serving time in jail for a murder case.
He now gathers thousands of followers, claiming to perform miracle healings. This is not his first controversy, as he has previously spent nearly a decade in prison for murder, where he was introduced to Christianity through a pastor.
