Punjab Police successfully busted one of the biggest interstate opium smuggling syndicates operating from Jharkhand with the arrest of two smugglers and seized 66 kg of drugs.
The information of the same was shared by Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav via post on X.
The post says, "Fazilka police busts one of the biggest interstate opium smuggling syndicate operating from #Jharkhand with the arrest of #BigFish and effective seizure of 66 kg opium and meticulously followed up the financial trail which led to the freezing of Rs 1.86 crore in 42 bank accounts after arresting 2 smugglers."
The DGP said further investigations are going on to establish linkages in this case.
Meanwhile, CP Amritsar Police, in two different cases has recovered 9.2 Kg of Heroin and arrested three individuals.
Yadav stated, "In the first case, PS Chheharta has apprehended two drug smugglers from the area of Shiva Enclave, Rajasansi, Amritsar Rural In the second case, PS Ranjit Avenue has arrested a drug smuggler and recovered 1 Kg Heroin In both the cases, FIRs under NDPS Act have been registered and Investigations on-going to establish backward & forward linkages."
