Punjab Police have arrested Shehnaz Singh, also known as Shawn Bhinder, a notorious international drug trafficker who was on the FBI’s most-wanted list. Bhinder was involved in large-scale drug trafficking across multiple countries, including Colombia, the US, and Canada.
According to officials, Bhinder fled to India on February 26 after a crackdown on his associates. His network included Amritpal ‘Amrit Bal’ Singh, Amritpal ‘Cheema’ Singh, Takdir Singh (also known as Romy), Sarbsit Singh (alias Sabi), and Fernando ‘Franco’ Valladares.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrest, stating that the Tarn Taran police apprehended Bhinder, who played a major role in an international drug syndicate that smuggled cocaine from Colombia into the US and Canada.
DGP Yadav described the operation as proof of Punjab Police’s strict stance against drug trafficking and organised crime.
“This arrest demonstrates our zero-tolerance approach to drug smuggling. We are committed to working with international law enforcement agencies to ensure Punjab does not become a safe haven for criminals,” he said.
The arrest marks a major breakthrough in the fight against international drug networks, reinforcing Punjab Police’s dedication to curbing drug-related crimes.
