The Punjab Government has removed G Nageswara Rao from his position as the Chief Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau just 37 days after his appointment.

He has now been reassigned as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Provisioning. In his place, IPS officer Surinderpal Singh Parmar has been appointed as the new Chief Director of the Vigilance Bureau.

The decision comes as part of an administrative reshuffle within the state’s police force.

Before his recent assignments, Surinderpal Singh Parmar held several key positions in the Punjab Police. He has served as the Inspector General (IG) of the Border Range, where he was responsible for overseeing security in critical areas.

With his extensive experience in law enforcement and maintaining public order, his appointment to the Vigilance Bureau is expected to bring a fresh approach to handling corruption cases and administrative vigilance in the state.
