Sarpanch of Punjab's Chhanna Gulab Singh village in Barnala district, Sukhjit Singh, was brutally murdered by an armed mob of 40-50 attackers on Saturday, leaving his father and an ally critically injured.&nbsp;&nbsp;
&nbsp;
According to the reports, the 30-year-old leader was found blood-soaked and was killed by sharp weapons.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
Sukhjit's family has alleged that the people of the village held grudges against him for the Gram Panchayat elections.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
Some media reports allege that Sukhjit was actively working against drug abuse which could also be the possible reason behind his murder.&nbsp;

An investigation has been launched into Sukhjit's murder.&nbsp;
