Over the next three days, residents of Punjab and Chandigarh are anticipated to encounter heavy fog, with visibility falling below fifty meters. During this time, there is a yellow alert for fog, according to the Meteorological Department.
Rainfall is not anticipated, though.
There won't be any rainfall, and the weather in Punjab and Chandigarh is projected to remain dry. In addition to the heavy fog, residents should brace themselves for a 2 to 3 degree Celsius dip in temperature.
Northern areas on snowfall alert
Meanwhile, a western disturbance has formed at the Pakistan-Iran border, leading to warnings of snowfall and heavy rainfall in northern hilly areas.
Chandigarh continues to struggle with poor air quality, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) remaining worse than many other parts of Punjab. Despite a decline in stubble burning cases, toxic smog continues to be a concern for residents.
The ongoing pollution levels are being closely monitored by authorities.
