Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Raghav Chadha on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora. He alleged large-scale financial irregularities and said the developments reflected a breach of public trust in the state.

Raghav said AAP had promised to make Punjab “Rangla Punjab” but instead damaged the state’s economy and turned it into “Kangla Punjab”.

Raghav alleged that "By showing the dream of making Punjab 'Rangla', Aam Aadmi Party has looted the treasury of Punjab and made it 'Kangla'... The reports that Rs 21 lakh cash was thrown in a bag from a balcony during the ED raid, and around Rs 100 crore of funds was round-tripped, show that this was a huge betrayal of the mandate they recieved in Punjab. AAP has betrayed Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabiyat." He further said investigative agencies would continue their work, but added that the final judgment would come from the people of Punjab.

According to him, several MPs who earlier left AAP had also raised concerns about alleged corruption within the party. He claimed those who questioned the leadership were silenced, adding that voters would respond in the next Assembly elections.

His comments came after the ED conducted raids on multiple premises linked to Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora on Saturday as part of an alleged Rs 100 crore money-laundering investigation.

Meanwhile, the ED arrested Sanjeev Arora the same day in connection with the probe related to alleged fraudulent Goods and Services Tax (GST) transactions, officials said.

The arrest followed day-long searches carried out at several locations connected to Arora and his business entities. The action was taken under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
