Rain brings relief from humidity in Punjab, Haryana

Rains swept across Punjab and Haryana on Sunday, providing a welcome reprieve from the sweltering humidity in the states. The downpour brought relief to several regions, including Mohali, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, and Sirsa, with varying degrees of rainfall recorded in each area. 

 

The meteorological department reported significant rainfall figures in several areas. Pathankot received 82mm of rainfall, while Gurdaspur and Amritsar recorded 68.8mm and 57.6mm, respectively.  

 

In Haryana, Ambala topped the list with 83.8mm of rainfall, followed by Karnal with 36.8mm, Sirsa with 20mm, and Hisar with 6mm. Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, received 28.8mm of rainfall. 

 

The rainfall data was recorded over a 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Sunday.  

 

The showers are expected to bring a significant drop in temperature, providing a much-needed respite from the humid weather conditions. The rain has brought relief to the residents of Punjab and Haryana, who were reeling under the hot and humid weather for the past few days.
