The Meteorological Office, Srinagar (MeT), has issued a weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting light rain and snowfall across several parts of the Union Territory starting November 4.
According to the forecast, Jammu and Kashmir are likely to witness dry weather conditions after a brief wet spell over the next few days.
The weather forecast said weather conditions will remain dry from November 1 to 3 across both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
However, on November 4 and 5, the region is likely to witness generally cloudy weather, with a possibility of light rain or light snowfall over higher reaches at scattered places during the evening and night of November 4, continuing until the morning or forenoon of November 5.
The weather after November 6 is expected to remain dry until November 13 with no significant precipitation.
Meanwhile, in its advisory, the MeT department has cautioned that thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds may also occur at a few places on the evening of November 4.
It also warned that both day and night temperatures are expected to drop sharply from November 5 onwards in many areas. Farmers have been advised to suspend farm operations on November 4 and 5 to avoid any weather-related losses.
