A Raipur resident of Chhattisgarh's capital on Friday asked the government to bring home safely his daughter and her family who are stuck in Iran during its current conflict with Israel. In a conversation with the media, Kasim Raza, a prisons department employee, revealed that he had telephonic conversation with his daughter on Wednesday, but since then, he could not make contact with her or her family.
"My daughter moved to live with her family in Qom city. I talked with my daughter on the phone on Wednesday. She was tensed and worried about the rising tensions between Iran and Israel. She asked me to evacuate her and the family from Iran and send them back to India at all costs," an anxious Raza said.
Raza, a resident on the premises of Raipur Central Jail, told his daughter Eman (29) wedded Ezaj Zaidi (34) from Damoh in adjoining Madhya Pradesh in 2017.

The couple then moved to Iran the next year. My son-in-law is studying in 'maulviyat' (conventional Islamic studies). They have two sons, one each of 5 years and 3 years, both born in Iran," he added.
Raza added he has been attempting to get in contact with his daughter since his last talk with her on Wednesday but couldn't establish contact with her or her friends in Iran.
"My daughter has thyroid. We are all concerned," he said, calling on the government to facilitate the family's return safely.
Raza said he would pen a letter to the government seeking measures for the family's safe evacuation from Iran. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao asserted that individuals from Chhattisgarh stuck in Iran would be returned safely.
Speaking to media, Sao informed, "The government of India has been making efforts to return Indians stuck in Iran by ensuring them every possible help. The state government has been taking help of the Centre and attempting to facilitate safe return of individuals from our state who are in Iran."
