The Rajasthan government on Wednesday introduced nine new policies aimed at fostering investment and generating employment opportunities ahead of next week’s Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that the policies would not only attract significant investment but also create job prospects for lakhs of young people in the state.
The new policies include measures for MSMEs, export promotion, the ‘One District, One Product’ initiative, a new tourism unit, integrated clean energy, and the promotion of Rajasthan M-Sand, among others.
Sharma said that these policies incorporate innovations designed to drive economic progress, prosperity, and employment generation.
"These policies reflect our commitment towards a developed Rajasthan," Sharma said, urging industrialists and investors to join the state's development journey.
Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa added that these investment-friendly policies would serve as a milestone for the state’s future growth.
Key highlights of the policies include:
MSME Policy 2024: Designed to strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), this policy offers additional interest subsidies, support for technical upgrades, and assistance with quality certifications to help local businesses compete globally.
Export Promotion Policy 2024: Aimed at reducing logistical challenges and providing exporters with resources for documentation, technical upgrades, and participation in international events, ensuring global recognition for Rajasthan’s products.
One District-One Product (ODOP) Policy: Focused on promoting district-specific crafts and products, this initiative seeks to boost the income of artisans, farmers, and manufacturers by providing integrated infrastructure and financial support.
Cluster Development Scheme: Supporting artisans, handloom sectors, and MSMEs, this scheme promotes productivity and quality enhancement through cluster-based projects aligned with global standards.
AVGC & XR Policy 2024: Encouraging innovation in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality (XR), this policy fosters local talent and establishes Atal Innovation Studios and Accelerators.
New Tourism Unit Policy 2024: Revitalising Rajasthan’s tourism sector, this policy promotes private sector investments, creating new opportunities and enhancing the state's tourism infrastructure.
Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024: Focused on renewable energy, including solar, wind, green hydrogen, and energy storage, this policy aims to position Rajasthan as a leader in clean energy production, supported by MoUs and investments exceeding ₹6.5 lakh crore.
Mineral Policy 2024: Targeting an increase in the mineral sector’s contribution to GDP from 3.4% to 5% by 2029-30, this policy seeks to capitalise on Rajasthan’s rich mineral reserves while ensuring employment and revenue growth.
M-Sand Policy 2024: Promoting the use of manufactured sand (M-Sand) over traditional gravel in construction, this initiative aims to reduce environmental impact and construction costs.
