The Rajasthan Police have unearthed a paper leak scam involving the 2021 Sub-Inspector recruitment examination.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested 15 trainee sub-inspectors, including the exam topper, Naresh Bishnoi, in connection with the case.

The arrests come after a thorough investigation by the SOG, which questioned 16 probationary sub-inspectors.

While the involvement of 14 individuals has been confirmed, investigations are ongoing regarding the remaining two.

The arrested individuals were undergoing training at the Rajasthan Police Academy in Jaipur and the Rajasthan Police Training Centre in Kishangarh.

According to the SOG, a majority of the accused hail from Sanchore, while others are from Jodhpur, Barmer, and Churu.

It is noteworthy that two other individuals, Rajendra Yadav and Ashok Nathawat, who were selected as probationary sub-inspectors but did not join the training, are already in custody on unrelated charges.

This development follows the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the Rajasthan government to tackle the issue of paper leaks.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma lauded the SIT's success, stating, "'Modi ji's guarantee' translates to a guarantee that the guarantee will be fulfilled! Paper leaks are being controlled in the new Rajasthan of new India."

He further highlighted the SIT's significant achievement, stating that 15 suspects, including the exam topper, are currently being interrogated.

Minister Kirodi Lal Meena, who met with ADG Singh on Tuesday, raised concerns about the scam's scope and alleged that 300-400 individuals who qualified the exam might have done so through fraudulent means.

The Sub-Inspector examination, conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), was held in September 2021. While 3.83 lakh candidates appeared for 859 vacancies, the RPSC recommended 3,079 individuals.

The SOG has booked a total of 40 individuals, including both the masterminds and beneficiaries involved in the paper leak scam. The charges include criminal conspiracy, cheating, and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
