Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday reaffirmed the state government's resolve for the overall development of Scheduled Tribes and instructed officials to see that tribal area budget announcements and welfare schemes were completed in time and with quality.

Presiding over a meeting of the Rajasthan Scheduled Tribes Advisory Council at his house, the chief minister urged public representatives to actively take part in the ongoing Dharti Aaba Jan-Bhagidari Abhiyan being organised to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of tribal legend Birsa Munda.

Sharma added that both the Centre and the state are making joint efforts to better the lives of tribal people, and the advisory council has a critical role in ensuring proper implementation of major schemes.

The chief minister directed the officials to hasten the disposal of outstanding individual and community claims under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, and distribute the entitlement certificates promptly.

Sharma also emphasized routine inspections in hostels and residential schools for tribals and directed quality inspection of the meals and nutrition served at Maa-Badi centres. He requested the remaining distribution of mini-seed kits be done at the earliest.

The chief minister requested complete involvement of the elected members in the next Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Pakhwada from June 24 so that last-mile delivery of welfare programs is provided to the deserving.
