Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit their respective parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh over the next two days to attend official programmes, meetings and party interactions, local leaders said on Wednesday.
Singh, the BJP MP from Lucknow, will be on a two-day visit to his constituency on 12 and 13 March, party leaders said.
According to Lucknow BJP metropolitan president Anand Dwivedi, the defence minister is expected to arrive at the city airport on Wednesday evening.
On Thursday, Singh will join Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at a programme to inaugurate a green corridor at Samatamulak Chauraha. He will also review the stretch of the corridor up to the Daliganj bridge, Dwivedi said.
Later in the day, the defence minister will address a public gathering at Jhulelal Vatika before leaving for Delhi in the evening.
Meanwhile, Gandhi, the Congress MP from Rae Bareli, will undertake a two-day visit to Rae Bareli and neighbouring Amethi from 12 March.

Congress Rae Bareli district president Pankaj Tiwari said Gandhi will attend a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the Rae Bareli collectorate on the first day of his visit.
The meeting will review the implementation of development schemes in the constituency and assess progress made since the previous session.
Gandhi will later interact with party office-bearers, workers, public representatives and members of various organisations at the Bhuemau guest house, where he is scheduled to stay overnight, Tiwari added.
Amethi Congress district president Pradeep Singhal said Gandhi will arrive at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi in Fursatganj, Amethi, and travel by road to Rae Bareli to attend the DISHA meeting and other engagements.
On the second day of his tour, the Congress leader is expected to meet local residents and party workers before holding a meeting with party functionaries from Amethi.
