The ongoing anti-terror operation, codenamed Operation Sheruwali, entered its 33rd day on Tuesday, making it one of the longest such operations in the region’s recent history.

Security forces are continuing intensive searches in the dense forest belt of the Manjakote sector in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Operation Sheruwali is a large-scale, multi-agency counter-terrorism combing mission in the dense forest areas of the region.

Launched in late May, the operation aims to locate and neutralise armed infiltrators believed to be hiding in the rugged mountainous terrain.

Officials said all security agencies involved in the operation remain on high alert, with search and surveillance activities continuing in the forested terrain to track any suspicious movement and ensure the safety of local residents.

An official said the operation is progressing as planned, with forces maintaining strict vigilance across the area.

“Security forces remain alert and committed to maintaining peace and security in the area. Additional checkpoints and area domination patrols are also being conducted as part of the ongoing efforts,” officials said.

The public has been asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement to law enforcement agencies.
