Vijayawada witnessed a victory rally on Tuesday led by Andhra Pradesh BJP president PVN Madhav, celebrating the party’s performance in the recently concluded Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry.

The rally commenced from Bhavanipuram and saw participation from several BJP leaders as well as party workers. Addressing the gathering, Madhav said the election results reflected the people’s trust in the BJP, adding that what he described as ‘rowdy governance’ in West Bengal had come to an end. He noted that the party’s success was being celebrated across the country.

Madhav credited the victories to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the results reaffirmed public confidence in his governance model. He described the win in West Bengal as historic, recalling that the state was once associated with Syama Prasad Mukherjee, where the Jana Sangh had initially secured just one seat.

Highlighting the broader political landscape, Madhav said governments led by the National Democratic Alliance are now in power in nearly 20 states, which he said demonstrates a nationwide trend towards development-oriented governance. He also pointed to the party’s performance in Assam and Puducherry, praising the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma and calling those victories significant milestones.

Madhav further claimed that the results challenged the perception that minority communities do not support the BJP, citing wins in constituencies with sizable Muslim populations. He also welcomed the electoral gains of actor-turned-politician Vijay in Tamil Nadu, stating that voters had rejected the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government.

Attributing the party’s success to coordinated efforts, Madhav credited senior leaders such as Amit Shah and Sunil Bansal, along with grassroots workers. He also alleged that previous governments in West Bengal were marked by lawlessness, infiltration from Bangladesh, and violence against political opponents.

He added that increasing public awareness, including among minority groups, contributed to the BJP’s gains, and said the high voter turnout indicated a strong desire for change. Expressing confidence in the party’s future, Madhav said the BJP would deliver stable governance in the states it governs.

Referring to developments in Kerala, he noted that the BJP has now entered the state Assembly, describing it as a sign of the party’s expanding footprint in the region.
