Ranchi Police is likely to question Enforcement Directorate officials on Monday if they appear before the police as per the summons issued by the police in the ST-SC case lodged by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Ranchi Senior SP Chandan Sinha said that ED officers were given time by police till March 18. However, he said that another day's time has been given to the officers to record their statements in the case.
The investigation is being done on the complaint lodged by Hemant Soren in ST SC police station against ED for tarnishing his image and the tribal society as a whole.
Notices were issued to ED Associate Director Kapil Raj, Assistant Director Devvrat Jha and two other officers. Ranchi Police had sent the notices under CRPC-41A and had called them for questioning.
Meanwhile, ED officers have started questioning former CM Hemant Soren’s media advisor and his close aide Abhishek Prasad Pintu at Ranchi Zonal office on Monday.
Pintu was summoned by ED on March 14 and was called for questioning today. Pintu reached the ED office carrying a bag with him.
ED is questioning Pintu in the illegal mining case along with the land grabbing case, in which Soren is arrested and is presently under judicial custody.
DSP Pramod Mishra has been called by ED for questioning on March 19.
ED had raided the locations linked with Pintu and several other people on the morning of January 3, 2024 in the land scam and illegal mining case.
