The Himachal Pradesh government informed the Supreme Court that two senior officials have been transferred from Kullu. The move follows allegations that they played a role in allowing rave parties in the district in 2025.

On July 27, the Supreme Court took up pleas filed by Deputy Commissioner Anurag Chander Sharma and Superintendent of Police Madan Lal. The court stayed the Himachal Pradesh High Court's order seeking an SIT probe and registration of an FIR against the two officials.

However, the Supreme Court did not put a stay on the part of the High Court order that directed their transfer to other districts.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana was told on Monday that the transfers had been carried out as directed. Himachal Pradesh Advocate General Anup Rattan informed the court about the development.

The High Court had on June 24 expressed serious concern over the alleged links between district officials and organisers of large rave parties in Kullu.

The High Court had ordered the transfer of three senior officials, including the sub-divisional magistrate. It also directed that an FIR be registered and called for an SIT headed by an officer of at least the rank of Deputy Inspector General to investigate the allegations.

The Supreme Court was further informed on Monday that the SDM has also been transferred.
