Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims of the Doda accident in which five people lost their lives early Tuesday.
The toll has now reached seven after three more injured succumbed to their injuries. The Office of the CM in a post on X wrote, “Deeply saddened by the tragic road accident in Doda that has claimed six lives and left several injured. Chief Minister extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
The post further reads that “The administration has been directed to ensure immediate medical assistance and support to all affected.”
Meanwhile, LG Manoj Sinha also condoled the loss of lives in the tragic incident, saying, “Pained by the loss of lives due to the tragic road accident in Doda. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Praying for a speedy recovery of the injured.”
Similarly, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh condoled a deadly accident involving a private tempo in the District. Three people have reportedly lost their lives in the accident, as per the first reports, with four others critically injured.
Mohammad Ashraf (35), Mangta Wani (51), Atta Mohamed (33), Talib Hussain (35), and Rafeeqa Begum (60) were declared brought dead at Government Medical College Hospital, Doda, while five-year-old Uzma Jan and Shakur Din (30) succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Jammu, the officials said.
Singh said, “My deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” he added, stating that any additional required aid would be arranged immediately.
Police authorities have begun an investigation to find out the possible causes surrounding the incident.
