Mindful of the security and interest of the public, Una’s District Magistrate (DM) has mandated the registration of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) prior to their use.
Officials said on Wednesday that as per orders issued by Jatin Lal, DM, Una (Himachal Pradesh) drones have to be registered at the police station concerned within seven days from the date of purchase.
The registration process would require the drone’s model, serial number (if any), flight capacity, purpose of use (such as agriculture, surveillance, photography, emergency services etc.), operator’s name, address and contact information, and a copy of the remote pilot licence, if applicable.
The mandate applies to any person, organisation, institution or government agency operating a drone, a spokesperson said, adding that action will be taken against those flouting the orders.
