Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) MP Mehboob Ali Kaiser has expressed his intention to seek the ticket from the LJP-Ram Vilas faction to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Bihar’s Khagaria seat.
Kaiser met with Chirag Paswan, leader of the LJP-Ram Vilas faction, in the national capital on Thursday following the BJP's seat-sharing agreement with the faction.
Under the reported seat-sharing deal, the Chirag Paswan-led faction of the LJP is said to have secured five seats in Bihar, including Khagaria, where Kaiser currently serves as the incumbent MP.
“I met with Chirag Paswan and expressed my desire to contest the Lok Sabha election from Khagaria. I am willing to contest if he grants me his party’s ticket,” Kaiser stated while addressing media persons in New Delhi.
Regarding his switch in allegiance, Kaiser remarked, “Such transitions are commonplace in politics. CM Nitish Kumar was previously aligned with Mahagathbandhan and is now part of the NDA. Similarly, although I am currently with the RLJP, I am prepared to join Chirag Paswan's party and contest the election if given a ticket.”
Kaiser also acknowledged Chirag Paswan's political heritage, citing the political legacy of his father, the late Ram Vilas Paswan.
