The Moga police have arrested four women allegedly involved in multiple incidents of robbery and cheating, officials said on Thursday.
Acting on a specific tip-off, a police team led by officials from Police Station City Moga conducted a raid in the areas around Joginder Chowk and the Moga bus stand. During the operation, the team successfully apprehended the accused after a brief surveillance and search.
The arrested women have been identified as Parveen, Asha alias Parveen, Sonia and Soma, all residents of Ferozepur district. According to police officials, the four were operating as part of an organised gang that specifically targeted unsuspecting individuals in crowded public places.

Investigators said the accused used various tactics to deceive victims, including engaging them in conversation and creating distractions, before duping them and fleeing with cash and gold ornaments. In some cases, they allegedly posed as acquaintances or used clever tricks to gain the confidence of their targets.
Police added that preliminary investigation has revealed that the women have a history of involvement in similar criminal activities. Multiple FIRs have already been registered against them in different districts, indicating a pattern of repeat offences.
Authorities are now questioning the accused to gather further details about their network, possible accomplices and the full extent of their activities. Police officials said efforts are underway to identify additional victims and recover stolen property. Further investigation in the case is ongoing.
