BJP terms the incident as the AAP government’s failure —
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Sunday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of presiding over a complete "collapse" of law and order following the killing of Naveen Arora.
Poonawalla claimed that criminal activities have surged in the state since the AAP came to power.
"Since the Aam Aadmi Party has come to power in Punjab, the law and order situation has completely collapsed. Incidents include the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, an attack on a renowned Kabaddi player, a daylight attack on Shiv Sena leaders, and the killing of Navin Arora, the son of an RSS swayamsevak," he said.
He further alleged that the Punjab Police's resources are being diverted away from maintaining law and order.
"It is because AAP has used all the Punjab police resources for the VVIP protection of Kejriwal and other AAP leaders from Delhi. They are using it for Vendetta politics against their political rivals. Law and order have been completely destroyed since the AAP came to power," Poonawalla added.
Meanwhile, Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar said the murder of Naveen Arora, who was the son of an RSS leader in Ferozepur, has once again exposed the AAP government's failures in law and order.
Writing in a post on X, Jakhar said that it is the gangsters who are effectively running the state government, while Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has failed in his responsibilities, adding that the people of Punjab are forced to live in fear of terror atmosphere.
Meanwhile, as soon as the matter was reported, senior police officials, including Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh, reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
The SSP said that the police were checking the CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the assailants, and that they will be arrested soon.
Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA Ferozepur (Urban), also reached out to meet the family members and assured strict action against the accused.
