The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday carried out a series of coordinated searches at five locations in Jharkhand's Lohardaga district as part of its ongoing investigation into the petrol bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi.
The early morning operation, launched around 4 a.m. with assistance from the local police, led to extensive searches for documents, digital devices and other material that could aid the investigation. Security was tightened across the district during the exercise.
According to officials familiar with the operation, NIA teams simultaneously raided the premises of individuals suspected to have links with the case.
Investigators carefully examined records, electronic gadgets and other evidence believed to be relevant to the probe. A heavy police presence was maintained at all the locations to ensure the operation proceeded without disruption.
One of the search operations was conducted at the residence of Aman Ansari, the prime accused in the bombing case, who is currently lodged in judicial custody.
As the occupants did not open the door despite repeated attempts, police personnel reportedly used an electricity department crane to reach the upper floor and gain access to the house before carrying out the search.

The NIA has not yet issued an official statement on the outcome of the raids. However, the searches are understood to be part of the agency's effort to gather additional evidence and trace the larger network involved in the attack.
Investigators are examining the role of all suspected conspirators and exploring possible links extending beyond Jharkhand.
The case stems from the petrol bomb attack on the RSS office in Ranchi's Nivaranpur locality on June 17, 2026. Owing to its suspected terror angle, the investigation was later handed over to the NIA, which has since been probing the wider conspiracy behind the incident.
Last week, the agency also conducted coordinated searches at 20 locations across multiple states in connection with the same case, intensifying its efforts to identify those allegedly involved in planning and executing the attack.
Earlier, Jharkhand Police had arrested three individuals for their alleged involvement in the petrol bomb attack on the RSS office
