The Rudraprayag police have prepared a detailed traffic management plan to ensure smooth and safe travel for pilgrims during the upcoming Kedarnath Yatra. The main focus is on maintaining steady traffic flow and preventing congestion along the pilgrimage route as large numbers of pilgrims are expected this season.

Officials said traffic arrangements are being strengthened from national highways to smaller link roads to manage the anticipated rush. Police personnel will be deployed at key locations to regulate vehicle movement, control congestion, and maintain orderly traffic throughout the yatra route.

The administration has also created permanent and temporary parking facilities along the route to reduce vehicle pressure and avoid traffic bottlenecks. Authorities said these steps are aimed at improving convenience and ensuring the safety of pilgrims travelling towards the shrine.

Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar said the traffic plan has been prepared in coordination with neighbouring districts to manage movement smoothly, especially during peak rush hours. She said the system has been divided into two super zones and eleven sectors for better supervision.

She added that 13 mobile force teams have been formed to handle on-ground situations. A diversion plan will also be activated if traffic pressure increases at any point during the pilgrimage.

Officials said dividing the district into zones and sectors will help authorities monitor traffic more effectively and respond quickly to any emerging challenges during the yatra period.

Police have also deployed mobile teams to handle real-time situations and ensure immediate intervention wherever required, particularly during peak movement hours on the pilgrimage route.

These arrangements form part of wider preparations by the district administration to ensure a safe, organised, and smooth Kedarnath Temple pilgrimage experience for devotees.
