While Sabarimala Pilgrims were returning after offering prayers at the Lord Ayyappa temple, a bus carrying them back overturned near Thirunelli in Wayanad district. The incident took place on Tuesday morning after the vehicle lost control.
It has been learnt that the bus was carrying pilgrims from Karnataka.
There were about 45 people in the bus, out of which, about 30 of them have been, reportedly, injured.
Taking note of the mishap, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her condolences on the tragic accident.
Taking to social media, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote a heartfelt post stating, "I am deeply saddened to hear about the unfortunate bus accident in Wayanad involving Sabarimala pilgrims from Karnataka. My thoughts are with the injured and their families during this difficult time. Wishing all those affected a speedy recovery."
The authorities have reported that injured were immediately admitted to Mananthavady Medical College in Wayanad.
They even said that the condition of the injured passengers is stable now.
The accident occurred during the annual Mandala-Makaravilakku festival, which began on November 15, marking the start of the Sabarimala pilgrimage season.
