The Punjab government on Monday announced a holiday for all schools across the state on January 27 to mark Republic Day, as per official notification issued by the School Education Department.
The decision follows an announcement made by the Punjab Chief Minister and applies to all government, aided, recognised and private schools in the state.
The order has been issued by the Government of Punjab through the School Education Department and takes effect immediately. The notification directs all concerned authorities and institutions to ensure strict compliance with the order.
Meanwhile, the Chandigarh Administration also announced on Monday that all government and private schools in the Union Territory will remain closed on Tuesday, January 27.
The announcement was made after the Republic Day celebrations held earlier in the day at the Parade Ground.
