A sexual assault case has been reported from a private school in Andhra Pradesh's Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district where the principal sexually assaulted a minor student. The principal of the school, named Jayaraju, raped a Class 9 student four months ago. He had reportedly threatened the girl with serious ramifications if she made the abuse public.

The matter was revealed when the parents of the girl took her to a hospital since they had observed that she had missed her periods for three months. The medical tests revealed that the minor was pregnant, and her parents decided to go to the police.

A complaint was registered at the Rayavaram police station. The authorities have now registered a case and initiated an investigation into the issue. Officials said proceedings have been launched under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and strict action is being initiated against the accused to provide justice to the victim.

In another case, a 10-year-old girl was reportedly sexually abused by her father at a village under Telangana's Narayanpet district's Marikal mandal, police said. The survivor, who studies in Class 5 at a government school, had just returned home from a government hostel in Makthal, following a dog bite accident.

On the afternoon of July 25, she was studying alone at home while her mother was away for daily wage work. Her father, reportedly drunk, returned from tending goats and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Although the child begged "Nanna, I beg you, don't do anything to me," the man continued with the attack, the police stated. She was screaming and woke up the neighbours, who stormed into the house and discovered the girl in a pool of blood. They saved her and warned her mother.

Police booked a case under appropriate sections of the Pocso Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after a complaint was lodged by the mother. The father is on the run.
